Makeda Payne M.Ed

I live at the intersection of leadership, learning, and metaphysics. My work is for people and organizations who know that “business as usual” is no longer enough — they want transformation that is intelligent, embodied, and spiritually honest

My Work...In Plain Language...

I am a Creative Learning Architect, which means I design experiences that change people — not just inform them. I am also a Sage and Steward, which means I carry wisdom, hold space, and care for what has been entrusted to me: people, stories, and land.

For more than a decade, I’ve moved between classrooms, stages, boardrooms, and sacred spaces. I’ve written and voiced learning content, facilitated hard conversations, interpreted history, and guided people through moments of deep personal and professional change.

Everything I do now is an integration of that journey: learning design, leadership development, metaphysical insight, and creative expression — all in service of alignment.

What I Bring to the Table

Learning Architecture

I design learning experiences that move people from awareness to application. My work is grounded in Bloom’s Taxonomy, adult learning principles, and real‑world practice — not trends or buzzwords

Leadership & Organizational Development

I help leaders and organizations align who they are with how they operate. That includes leadership development, culture work, and programs that actually shift behavior over time.

Metaphysics & Alignment

I work with the Bible as a metaphysical text and with life as a spiritual, mental, and physical journey. The Way of Alignment framework weaves these together into something practical, grounded, and usable.

The Pillars That Shape My Work

Pillar 1 - Learning Is The Way

Change doesn’t happen because we wish for it. It happens because we learn. Whether I’m working with an organization or an individual, I design experiences that move people through real learning — reflection, practice, feedback, and integration.

Pillar 3 - The Way of Alignment

The Way of Alignment is a metaphysical framework for life mined from the Bible, which I consider the greatest metaphysical textbook of all time. It offers a way to understand identity, purpose, and leadership that is both deeply spiritual and deeply practical.

Pillar 2 - Bloom's Taxonomy is the Blueprint

Most content stops at “remember” and “understand.” I build for “apply” and beyond. If we’re not designing for application at minimum, we’re not designing for transformation — we’re just decorating information.

Pillar 4 - Spirit, Mind, & Body

Life is not just physical. It is spiritual, mental, and physical — and nothing truly changes unless all three levels are engaged. My work honors the whole person: their beliefs, their thoughts, their nervous system, their body, and their lived reality.

Who I Work With

organizational leaders & l&D professionals

You’re responsible for people, programs, or culture — and you know that “check‑the‑box” learning isn’t enough. You want experiences that actually shift how people think, decide, and lead.

Independent Learners with a growth mindset

You’re committed to your own evolution. You seek clarity, skill‑building, and practical tools that help you grow in your work and your life. You value learning that deepens your self‑awareness and strengthens your capacity to move with intention.

lifestyle creatives & Seekers

You are building a life that feels true. You care about alignment, authenticity, and meaning. You’re drawn to metaphysics, story, and learning as a way of becoming more fully yourself.

Why This Approach Works

Most approaches to change focus on either skills, mindset, or spirit — rarely all three. My work is different on purpose.
I design for alignment: spirit, mind, and body; identity, knowledge, and leadership; inner truth and outer expression. When these layers begin to match, people don’t just perform differently — they become different.
That’s why the work sticks.

If what you’ve read here resonates with you, the next step is simple: explore how we might work together.

Makeda's Musings is where I write about everything that matters to me — metaphysics, leadership, creativity, personal growth, and the everyday moments that shape who we become. It’s a space for honesty, exploration, and the kind of writing that doesn’t always fit neatly into a category
